I am a researcher in relational and embodied cognition, soon to complete my PhD at the department of Neurophysiology & Pathophysiology, UKE Hamburg, Germany. (fingers crossed).
I started my PhD with laboratory work that investigates interactive gaming behaviour at multiple levels: can we predict participants’ experience from their personality differences, performance levels and interpersonal movement coordination? Which analyses allow us to integrate our own questions with the experience of our participants?
I then embarked on several collaborative initiatives to implement insights of relational and embodied cognition in our everyday life as researchers: the playful academic presents possibilities to bring embodied exploration and playfulness into academic collaboration, and the mindful researchers offer regular events and a network of people invested in bringing forth a more compassionate, generous and collaborative research practice and culture.
This website contains thoughts in the making, colourful notes (of mindful researchers, playful academic and other meetings), supplements to my published work, and pointers to (some of) the people involved.
Besides my PhD, I am building a garden house, like to build furniture, to cycle, climb trees, swim in cold-water – and expect more changes to come next .-)
