Innovation and cross-sector collaboration don’t happen automatically.
Co-creating and implementing new solutions requires working across organisational boundaries. In practice, this involves navigating different institutional logics, aligning expectations and timelines, translating between perspectives, facilitating collaboration, building trust, and surfacing tensions early enough to turn them into productive friction.
Much of this work is already being done by professionals across sectors – often without formal recognition or support. We refer to this role as the Mediator of Innovation: not a new position, but a way of making visible and strengthening the collaborative work that already enables innovation.
On Tuesday 12 May, we invite you to explore this role with us at AMS Institute. Together we will examine where boundary-crossing collaboration is currently happening, what challenges arise in practice, how this role can strengthen innovation processes across sectors – and how we can support you as professionals who decide to step into this role.
If you are interested in strengthening collaboration in complex innovation environments, join us at AMS Institute on Tuesday 12 May, 14:00–16:00.
